IMPORTANT NOTICE
September 2007
The National Minimum Wage increased on 1st October 2007.
This has been summarised as follows:
Adult Rate (workers aged 22 and over) increase to £5.52 per hour
Development Rate for 18-21 year olds increase to £4.60 per hour
Development Rate for 16-17 year olds (under 18) increase to £3.40 per hour
(workers who are no longer of compulsory school age)
Workers eligible for National Minimum wage also include:
*Part-time workers *Agency Workers *Casual Workers
*Homeworkers *People on short-term contracts
The National Minimum Wage does not apply to:
The Programme Led Apprenticeships Scheme in England
The European Community Leonardo Da Vinci Programme
The European Community Youth in Action Programme
Those who are over compulsory school age and in full-time or part-time education courses
